Problem and Solution Unit

I just finished this problem and solution unit. This unit is great for young learners to understand that most characters in the books they are reading have problems and that those problems have solutions. This unit is easy enough for Kindergarten, but also challenges older students to think and come up with multiple solutions to various problems. Check this unit out by clicking on any of the pictures below.

3-D Shapes Unit

Ahhhh I have FINALLY finished my 3-D Shapes unit that I have been working on for quite some time now. This unit is aligned to the Common Core Standards for Kindergarten and First grade. It includes various posters, headbands, printables, sorting cards and much much more.

New Year's Unit & Currently

Happy New Year's Everyone!!! I can't believe it is 2014. I have been teaching Kindergarten now for five years and still loving every minute of it!

I am sure many of you are back to work next week just as I am. I have two days with no kids (planning day and inservice day-Fun stuff!!). I also have my final observation for the year the week following my return from break. I have been busy preparing for that and I think I am just about ready.

I have been working on a lot of units I plan on using with my students. I have a very bad habit of starting a unit, almost finishing it and then moving on to something else without fully finishing it. My New Year's Resolution for this year is to finish EVERYTHING I start.

I will be following through with my resolution and finishing up a 3D Math unit that I started last year around this time. I will be using this unit for my upcoming observation. My kiddos LOVE LOVE LOVE shapes. We finished 2D shapes before break and they are very excited to learn all about 3D shapes.

I have some fun activities planned. The 3D shapes food mystery bags are always a HUGE HIT!! I just finished shopping today for the food.. ice cream cones, caramel candies, cube ice gum, cinnamon sticks, gumballs, donut holes, bugles, candy corn, croutons, ho ho's, combos, marshmallows and more!!

I recently posted these shape posters. Check them out by clicking on the picture below.
